28th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition Call for Artists

All artists residing in California are eligible to enter. All entries must be original and have been executed within the past three years. Works must not have been shown previously in this gallery. Media: oil, watercolor, acrylic, drawings, mixed media, graphics, photography, video, fiber art, fabric works, sculpture, glass and ceramics (50 lbs. or under). Please no crafts or functional art.
This year's juror Meg Linton is the Director of Galleries and Exhibitions at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Over the last 17 years, she has organized hundreds of solo and group exhibitions, published dozens of catalogs and worked with respected artists, curators and institutions. In 2007 Meg completed the prestigious Museum Leadership Program at the Getty Leadership Institute. Most recently Meg curated an exhibition in coordination with the Pacific Standard Time Initiative.
Awards: FIRST: $500 • SECOND: $350 • THIRD: $200; JUROR’S CHOICE: $100 • DIRECTOR’S CHOICE: $100; OTHER AWARDS INCLUDE: Honorable Mentions,Popular Choice and possible Purchase Awards.
Framed pieces must be ready for hanging, with proper screw eyes and wire to correspond with the weight of the art work. No sawtooth hangers or string hangers. Two-dimensional works may not exceed 72" in height or width including the frame, and may not weigh more than 100 pounds. Wall pieces, other than paintings, must be suitably mounted for Gallery exhibition. Art work may not be removed until the end of the exhibition. Artists are responsible for shipping and insuring costs to and from the City of Brea Art Gallery.
There is no limit to the number of entries that an artist may submit, each entry costs $15. Please include a check for $15 per entry made payable to City of Brea. So if you submit 3 entries, your check will be made payable for $45 and so on, please include this with your entry packet. Entrants who are Brea residents are allowed one free entry.
