SIJCC seeking program director

The SIJCC is transforming Jewish life on LA's east side through inspiring
events, reinvented ritual and
cultural experiences. We are seeking a dynamic leader for the role of
program director, a new position
that will be a key member of our management team.

The program director will be a cultural tastemaker, familiar with LA’s east
side neighborhoods (Silver
Lake, Echo Park, Downtown, etc), who is eager to infuse both the SIJCC
community and the broader
area with a fresh spin on creative programming. The program director will
play a central role in
expanding and developing a slate of programs that engage the whole
community in arts and culture.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Play a lead role in the development and implementation of Culture Lab, a
new collaborative artmaking initiative launching in 2013
• Develop and produce slate of programs, including monthly East Side Jews
events, quarterly
multi-age events, annual Festival of Lights
• Develop marketing and evaluation strategy for programs and events
• Manage staff and engage volunteers from all areas of the community
• Build organizational partnerships across both the Jewish and arts &
culture sectors
• Outreach to local and corporate businesses re: sponsorship opportunities
• Represent SIJCC to broader community, including participation in the
Jewish Federation’s NEI
network and other speaking opportunities as assigned
• Support development and fundraising initiatives, and play lead role in
organizing Spring Gala

Qualifications:
5 years non-profit or arts management experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Familiarity with LA arts and culture scene
Some knowledge of Jewish holiday cycle and traditions
Social media savvy
