AMP Member baldeep of New Delhi, India is a 13th generation exponent (singer) of the Sacred music of the Sikhs, and the present head of Kapurthala - Amritsari Baaj, the oldest tradition of percussion in North India, more than 5 centuries old. He has revived many extinct instruments from medieval times by actually handcrafting them, and is at present in the process of forming the Indus Valley Conservatory. Baldeep has been engaged in documentation and preservation of oral intangible traditions of North- Western India in particular, and also organizes major music festivals annually in India.
