JOB: Web Project Coordinator at Skirball Cultural Center

*Web Project Coordinator*

The Skirball Cultural Center seeks a motivated, experienced, positive, and
creative nonprofit communications professional as Web Project Coordinator.
The candidate will play a key role managing electronic communications,
including the Skirball website, as part of the External Affairs department,
which includes communications, marketing, publications, visitor services,
community relations and outreach, and membership.

The ideal candidate will be an eager web specialist with technical savvy,
including design experience and some aptitude for HTML editing. The
candidate must possess the ability to work both independently and with other
members of the External Affairs and I.T. teams. The position reports to the
Marketing Director and works closely with the I.T. department related to
website management.

*Responsibilities:*

- Update, maintain, and optimize existing Skirball website using the
content management system.
- Ensure that all aspects of the websites (informational and ticketing)
are current and meet content and user needs congruent with an existing
design aesthetic appropriate for Skirball audiences.
- Prepare approved content for website and e-blast/e-marketing
implementation.
- Design and develop graphical elements, e-mail templates, web pages, and
web-based promotions and campaigns.
- Work to develop and improve web content and design.
- Implement standards, evaluate functional design, and test usability;
report findings and make recommendations for improvements.
- Effectively manage archiving of appropriate web content.
- Interface with web design vendors as necessary.
- Support the institutional search engine optimization program and
provide input based on expertise and research.
- Work with I.T. staff to devise and coordinate online transaction
systems serving internal clients, including reservations for school program
and group tour and retail needs for the Museum store.

*Qualifications:*

- Several years experience with website maintenance.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Joomla or other content
management system (CMS), JavaScript, CSS, and hand-coding HTML (but not from
scratch) on both Mac and PC.
- Basic understanding of website architecture, PHP, and MySQL desirable.
- Experience editing text for presentation online as well as
cropping/resizing/ compressing images for web use.
- Understanding of social media techniques and platforms.
- Ability to adhere to strict style standards.
- Keen eye for clean user interface implementation and knowledge of
website design best practices.
- Production artist and/or photo editor skills desirable; ability to edit
content desirable.
- Capable of recognizing problems that arise with site usability and able
to make immediate corrections.
- Experience supporting PR, branding, and online marketing functions
desirable.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong QA skills.
