Organization Overview
The Friends of Levitt Pavilion – MacArthur Park (FLPMP) is a non-profit organization founded in 2007 to offer free summer concerts in historic MacArthur Park. FLPMP is committed to building a strong community, celebrating the diversity of Los Angeles, inspiring youth, and enriching lives through presenting an annual summer concert season of 50 performances. Diverse entertainment, from acclaimed emerging talent to seasoned, award-winning performers, are presented free of charge to the public every summer. In 2007, the MacArthur Park band shell, built in the 1950's but which stood unused for nearly a decade, was transformed into the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts. Since 2007, over 120,000 people have attended concerts there on cool summer nights with spectacular downtown vistas as a backdrop, recapturing the vibrant energy of MacArthur Park from decades past.

The Levitt Pavilion at MacArthur Park has proven to be an asset for the community by providing free access to the performing arts. Position Summary
The Executive Director provides executive leadership to FLPMP and reports directly to the Board of Directors. The scope of responsibility includes direct support to the Board of Directors and Community Advisory Board; comprehensive fundraising; marketing, community outreach and audience development; artistic management; and the overall operational, financial, and administrative management of FLPMP.

Responsibilities
• Provide support to and work closely with FLPMP Board of Directors (consisting of up to 21 members), to ensure strong fiscal health, sustain positive governmental and community relations, increase overall visibility, recruit new Board members and otherwise fulfill organization's mission
• Develop and manage annual budget of $500,000+
• Develop and execute annual fundraising plan, including securing corporate sponsorships; identifying foundation and government funding sources; writing grants; cultivating individual donors; and producing benefit events
• Develop outreach initiatives and programming which are inclusive of surrounding communities
• Develop strategy to effectively recruit and utilize volunteers during summer concert season and year-round
• Develop and manage all communications including marketing, public relations and social media
• Serve as public face of organization, clearly articulating its mission, programs and impact to increase visibility of FLPMP and enhance the organization's reputation and standing
• Cultivate community relationships and develop strategic partnerships with local organizations
• Maintain relationships with Parks & Recreation Department, elected officials, and community stakeholders
• Coordinate with City departments regarding facility issues, production needs, and necessary City resources
• Supervise salaried and hourly employees, independent contractors, and volunteers
• Work closely with Board committees to develop and implement specific goals and objectives
• Manage all daily activities of organization

Qualifications
• Minimum 5 years nonprofit management experience, performing arts preferred
• Minimum 3 years development experience with demonstrated success in grant writing, sponsorships, special events, and donor cultivation
• Exceptional budgeting and fiscal management skills
• Previous experience with marketing and/or public relations
• High level of leadership, strategic thinking and presentation skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong communicator, able to effectively share FLPMP's mission with corporate leaders, foundation officers, individual donors and the general public
• Superior skills in problem solving, setting priorities, delegating, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and multi-tasking
• Commitment to working in and serving Westlake and surrounding communities
• Energetic willingness to work hands-on in executing FLPMP's strategies, initiatives and programs
• Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
