Employment: Graphic Artists (Los Angeles)

AMP's picture

Sub_Urban Riot is seeking graphic artists with an interest in
architecture, industrial design, the natural environment and bicycle
culture to design men's t-shirts with universal appeal.

ABOUT SUB_URBAN RIOT

Sub_Urban Riot is a progressive lifestyle clothing brand based in Los
Angeles, CA with an emphasis on the urban bicyclist. We promote graphics
that are relevant and topical. We focus on icons and commentary that
are simple, but also wry. Designs can be literal, or more abstract.
Juxtaposition, repeated icons, contrast colors, gradients, and unique
design elements are encouraged.

ARTWORK

Sub_Urban Riot is looking for new and fresh ideas to present to several
large retail chains. We are open to artistic interpretations of graphics
which encompass the themes of architecture, industrial design, the
natural environment and/or bicycle culture. We use humor in a lot of
what we do, and we try to capture a fun feeling in each design. We are
seeking designs that people can process very quickly and "get
it." Art that is too clever is lost in the t-shirt graphics world,
and frustrates people who don't want to take time to analyze the
artistic meaning. The basis of the design should be smart, fun and
simple. Designs should be between 1 and 6 colors.

BUDGET

Selected designs will be awarded $150 per design. Artists are not
limited to the number of designs they would like to submit.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION

The designs will be selected according to the following criteria:

· Ability to create a unique and high quality graphic design;

· Ability to create a design that is fun and humorous;
