Job: MEMBER EDUCATION COORDINATOR, AFTRA (Los Angeles)

The American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA), L.A. Local is
part of a national labor union representing over 70,000 performers in radio,
television, and sound recordings, including actors, dancers, singers, stunt
performers, announcers, radio DJ’s, talk show hosts, and news reporters and
anchors. AFTRA Los Angeles is currently looking for a Member Education
Coordinator.

Under the direction of the Member Education Director, the Member Education
Coordinator assists in the planning and implementation of AFTRA member programs
and events. This position serves as the staff liaison for Local member
committees and outside entities including entertainment guilds and industry
organizations. The Member Education Coordinator will be responsible for
developing internal and external communications, providing administrative
support for programs and events, and database management. Other duties include
developing programming for members that work in support of Equal Employment
Opportunity (EEO) functions.

Job Duties:
· Represents AFTRA as a labor union to members and outside entities
including entertainment guilds and industry organizations.

· Assists in the planning and implementation of member programs and
events including EEO functions.
· Responds to member inquiries.
· Develops internal and external communications regarding Member
Education.
· Manages Member Education database.
· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:
· 4 year degree preferred.
· Previous experience in budget-based event planning.
· Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide
array of people and organizations.
· Knowledge of labor union best practices and internal systems
preferred.

· Ability to self-start, prioritize, work under pressure and meet
deadlines.
· Ability to work with minimum supervision on a variety of concurrent
projects.
· Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in organizational settings.
· Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office,
Internet usage and strong skills in database management.
· Ability to work nights and some weekends.
· Must have valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
