Development Intern will assist the Assistant Director in the development of the LACE membership program. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in fundraising, donor development, outreach and database management. It requires an independent and detail-oriented applicant with excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities include:
. update donor and membership content on database,
. generate acknowledgement letters for members and donors,
. manage in-kind donation and vendor database,
. develop membership program materials for outreach and recruitment campaigns,
. assist Assistant Director and Gallery Supervisor in contacting in-kind donations for Auction 2010, a
major fundraising event,
. research membership protocol at local and national organizations,
. greet visitors and educate the public about LACE's programming,
. ensure quality of visitors' experience through facility maintenance,
. perform daily duties, including opening/ closing gallery, responding to inquiries and tracking attendance,
. assist during special events as needed.

Requirements include:
. Knowledge of Macintosh applications.
. Must be interested in contemporary art and willing to learn about LACE programs.
. Evening and weekend assistance may be requested during special events.

TIME COMMITMENT
Minimum 3-month commitment with approximately 16 hours / week.
