The Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) is an international research centre and museum founded by Phyllis Lambert in 1979 on the conviction that architecture is a public concern.

Based on its extensive Collection, exhibitions, programs, and research opportunities, the CCA is a leading voice in advancing knowledge, promoting public understanding, and widening thought and debate on architecture, its history, theory, practice, and role in society today.

The responsibilities of this job are to design, plan, implement, manage and evaluate educational programs that reflect the specific character and vision of the institution. The incumbent leads the team of Educational Programs.

Development of educational programs:
Develop the overall strategy of educational programs while considering new approaches in learning the role of architecture and related fields; Research, develop content and provide a coherent link between educational programs and other activities and divisions of the CCA (Programs, Collection, Development); Directing the activities of educational programs to provide visitors a wide range of services and educational products; Maintain knowledge of theories and practices in education, seeking new directions and approaches to implement in the educational programs of the CCA, evaluate results and make adjustments If necessary; Plan and implement, in cooperation with various relevant departments, special events that aims at adding educational programs as part of programs developed and ensuring their delivery.

Management and administration:
Direct and supervise the permanent and contractual staff, participating in hiring, training and evaluation; Develop and administer department budget in collaboration with the Coordinator, Program Administration; Ensure the visibility given to educational programs locally and internationally through various communication tools created at the CCA and develop loyalty strategies of participants in educational programs in collaboration with the Communications Division; Explore sources of funding for education projects and participate in the preparation of grant applications and funding; Maintaining strong relationships with museums, the school boards, teachers, and / or any other group to promote the exchange on the creation of special education programs in architecture; Represent the CCA as part of his duties and participate in institutional committees and working groups; Prepares various administrative reports, statistics and evaluation.

We expect the candidate to have a graduate degree in architecture or related areas, or history of architecture, art history or museology (additional specialized training in pedagogy is an asset); to have 5-7 years of relevant experience; to be bilingual, French and English (both oral and written); to have an experience in designing and implementing educational programs in the museum environment; to have excellent knowledge of Quebec's school system (from primary to university) and ability to develop appropriate programs for each level and for the adults; to be familiar with project management methodology; to have flexible schedule.
