Ford Amphitheatre seeks Assistant House Manager (Los Angeles)

The John Anson Ford Amphitheatre is seeking an experience, qualified Assistant House Manager for the over 100 performances presented at the Ford Amphitheatre this summer and fall. The 1200-seat outdoor Ford Amphitheatre is set in the Hollywood Hills just across from the Hollywood Bowl. It is an intimate theatre featuring music, dance, film and family events. The Ford Amphitheatre is a program of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission.

Under supervision of the House Manager, the Assistant House Manager performs a variety of duties for theatre performances, including overseeing house staff and patron services to ensure the smooth operation of event logistics at all performances from May through October. Responsibilities include coordinating opening of front gates and the house, assigning house staff and security staff posts and breaks, overseeing merchandise and VIP activities and responding to patron needs and inquiries with an emphasis on good customer service.

Qualified candidates will have the ability to work varying hours including nights and weekends, stand for extended periods of time, exercise good judgment, courtesy and tact with staff and public; present a clean, neat appearance and utilize quality customer service skills. Ideal candidates will be personable, extremely reliable and have previous House Management experience in a similar environment. We are especially interested in Bilingual candidates. Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook) is preferred. Applicants must have a valid California Drivers License or California I.D. card and a reliable method of transportation. Shifts are evenings and some weekend days, 20 or more hours per week. Compensation range is $10-$12 per hour.
