Non-Profit Art Center looking for Printmaker Art Instructor (Los Angeles, CA)

We nurture gifted artists with developmental disabilities. Our success is due to the chemistry between the Artists and Art Instructors who use their personal artmaking process to guide our artists through their projects.

We are looking for individuals who:
1.Are technically skilled, but not obsessed with it.
2.Can think outside the box with projects
3.Is intuitive and creative
4.Has an extensive portfolio and strong work ethic
5.Loves contemporary art and has a strong knowledge of contemporary artists.
6.Has patience
7.Loves working with people and is comfortable with adults with Developmental Disabilities
8.Can take initiative with projects

The following skills are required:
1.Expertise in all printmaking techniques (Lithography, etching, linocuts, metal plates, woodcuts, screen-printing…etc)
2.Can operate and maintain a professional litho combination etching press
3.Can operate a foot squaring metal shear
4.Can install gallery shows
5.Can organize and maintain the workspace

We offer:
1.Primary schedule of Monday-Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
2.We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental and Vision coverage, life insurance, 401K, vacation, and sick time
3.$9 - $11/hr DOE 35/hrs/week

We are a non-profit, but the environment is creative and we allow a lot of freedom with our projects. We are looking for working artists with an extensive portfolio. A primary part of our consideration will be based on your portfolio.
