Monsters and Miracles Gallery Attendant at Skirball Cultural Center

Description:

The Education Department of the Skirball Cultural Center has an opening
for a temporary Gallery Attendant to maintain the interactive components
of the exhibition Monsters and Miracles: a Journey through Jewish
Picture Books.

Saturday and Sunday from April 24th-June 27th. Hours are 11:00 a.m.-5:00
p.m., $15/hr.

Position will expand to 5 days/week Tuesday through Saturday from June
30-July 31. Hours are 1:00-5:00 p.m. weekdays and 11:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

* Engage with guests as they draw, decorate and create their own
stories at the interactive stations.
* Keep books and other materials in correct stations.
* Tidy and sort materials for "Make A Monster"
interactive station
* Restock and tidy Jonah Mural, Alternative Narratives and Photo
Booth Stations.
* Watch for and address inappropriate use of materials by guests
(ie drawing on the walls).

Qualifications:

* Experience in museum work or working with children and
families
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multisensory, stimulating
work environment.
* Ability to interact directly with museum visitors of all ages.
