International Theatre Workshop

Welcome to the International Theatre Workshop!

Organized by International Theatre Lab (ITL), Norway in collaboration with Bulgarian Theatre institutions. The event is part of ITL’s Research Program for exploration of methods to the actor’s training, as practised by a variety of world theatre traditions.

Date: May 29 - June 12 2010
Location: Obzor, Bulgaria
Participants: Actors, dancers, students and teachers of theatre, performers of any background.

Hosted in the idyllic setting of a seaside resort where The Balkan Mountains meet the Black Sea coastline, this worldwide gathering offers a unique opportunity to recharge your creative batteries, broaden your skill set, and learn new training techniques with some of Bulgaria’s top masters in the field.

Over the span of two weeks, participants will be enrolled in an intensive program of four separate workshops, exploring a variety of aspects central to acting training at a master level: movement, dance, textual analysis, improvisation, stage combat and more. All workshops will be conducted in English and will offer hands-on exercises to build understanding, expertise and community.

This special event combines professional theatre training with the exceptional experience of meeting fellow artists from around the world and the potential of forging professional ties across nations.
