here's why i've been away

(from zz baggins not quite so personal and irregular diary)...

unlikely considerations

So as you know, I have given notice as Art Director of Unlikely 2.0 in order to concentrate more on my book ventures. I anticipated the last mid-month art issue (linked above) to be the final one that I would orchestrate, however, Jonathan has asked me to stay on another month, thereby giving him more time to find a replacement. Of course, I have agreed to do so (how could I not) ... Jonathan has been very good to me! And while I am partly sad to be giving it up, I am excited about the extra time it will allow me to work on my stuff. An additional benefit is that I will be able to submit my own art there again the following month and thereafter... no conflict of interests anymore.

So with i believe finished and turned in, and fifteen minutes also finished (not yet turned in), and your poem series (not yet titled) finished (a few not yet published individually) ... what next? A third poetry book manuscript (I haven't decided on the publisher or title just yet) is next in line, then your book. And in case you missed mean mr. mustard (click the link).

At this point I hope that some of these books will be in distribution, thereby allowing me some peace of mind to begin the re-writes for all roads lead to johannesburg (the South Africa stories and poems [strangely always the intended title in my mind]). I am already stewing and making notes on details about South Africa that I left out or have thought of since writing the stories (which are many). This particular manuscript is very important for many reasons. I am also currently looking for a couple of good publishers of art/photography books. My thoughts on the additional non-fiction book I mentioned are still formulating at this point, I'm thinking that 25 years in the Hotel business (across the country) holds a wealth of humorous stories and such.

This means, eight (maybe nine) books on my mind, plus Fear of Heights and The Cherry Poems ... should sufficiently catch up for lost time.

I'm such a busy beaver!
