The Silver Lake Neighborhood Council Arts & Culture Committee seeks musicians to perform in and volunteers to help out with a free outdoor concert in Sunset Triangle Plaza from 4PM-8PM on Friday, June 21, 2013, as part of the 2nd Annual Make Music LA. MMLA takes place through all of Los Angeles and in over 100 countries worldwide as part of the international Fete De La Musique.

Open to all who live and/or work in Los Angeles, CA, with priority granted to those who live/work/play in Silver Lake and/or who are stakeholders in Silver Lake

Ryman Arts has several openings for outstanding teaching artists for the fall 2013 semester, at both our Westchester and Fullerton campuses. The selected instructor will teach foundation level drawing and/or painting to high school students who have won full scholarships to Ryman Arts. Our program emphasizes skill development in drawing and painting from observation, including color theory and life drawing.

For nearly 30 years Angels Gate Cultural Center has provided affordable
studio space for professional, working artists from all artistic disciplines
residing within the Los Angeles area. Current artists in the program range
in practice from visual arts to jewelry and performance to photojournalism.

Angels Gate Cultural Center, located in Angels Gate Park in San Pedro, CA,
overlooks the Port of Los Angeles and Catalina Island. The studios are
located within nine different repurposed 1940s Army barracks; thus each one
varies in size, lighting and cost. The cost of a studio ranges from $130 to
$700 a month.
